Description of Works:

We were appointed by a local Parish Council to carry out the refurbishment of the Playing Fields playground.

The scope of the works included a brief for the removal and disposal of several items of existing equipment and the provision of a design proposal to meet the needs of children from toddler age to 12 years old.

We designed and delivered a proposal that focused on meeting the following key objectives: 

• The play area was bespoke in design needs.
• We utilized natural elements in the surroundings to enhance the user experience.
• We proposed equipment that will provide a wide range of play opportunities and imaginative play.
• We incorporated accessible and inclusive features in the proposed play equipment.
• The proposal encouraged children of different ages to play together.
• We devised a proposal which provides children with opportunities to take risks and challenge themselves regardless of their capabilities, initiative and skills within a safe environment.                                         

Our proposal had minimal maintenance costs. By following these design objectives, we produced a successful and resulted in a transformed play area. 

Incorporating items including:

• Inclusive Roundabout
• Inclusive Basket Swing
• Pirate Ship Imaginative play area
• Multi play area including slides, climbing walls, gymnastic challenges and climbing frame
• Sensory play
• A hopscotch designed surface
• Climbing frames to mound slide
• Improved seating area
• Bonded rubber mulch pathways between all play items
• Wet pour safety surface surround to all play equipment

Our proposal was assessed and approved by a RoSPA certified park inspector prior to submission of the tender bid.

On award of the contract all works were delivered on time and within budget to the highest standards of quality and workmanship.
